Shelter From the Storm

'Twas in another lifetime, one of toil and blood
當生命另起，血汗交集
When blackness was a virtue and the road was full of mud
黑暗成為美德，道阻且長
I come in from the wilderness, a creature void of form.

'Come in,' she said,
“進來嗎，”她說，

I'll always do my best for her, on that I give my word

In a world of steel-eyed death, and men who are fighting to be warm.

'Come in,' she said,

Not a word was spoke between us, there was no risk involved

Nothing up to that point had even been resolved.
事情到頭都只能擱淺，草草收場
Try imagining a place where it's always safe and warm.

I was burned out from exhaustion, buried in the hail,

Poisoned in the bushes an' blown out on the trail,
曾經迷失叢林灌叢中毒，命絕小徑
Hunted like a crocodile, ravaged in the corn.
像鱷魚般被追殺，像農奴般被摧殘
'Come in,' she said,
“進來吧”她說，
'I'll give you shelter from the storm.'

Suddenly I turned around and she was standin' there
驀然回首，她仍在原地
With silver bracelets on her wrists and flowers in her hair.
腕系銀鐲，花兒插於髮際
She walked up to me so gracefully and took my crown of thorns.
她緩步走來如此優雅，摘掉我的荊棘之冠
'Come in,' she said,
“進來嗎，”她說，
'I'll give you shelter from the storm.'
“這裡是暴風雨中的避風港”
Now the bonds are broken, but they can be retied,
現在那些盟約已經被破壞，但是他們會被撤銷
by one more journey to the woods , the holes where spirits hide.
再一次的森林之旅，找尋那些靈魂藏身的幽洞
It's a never ending battle for a peace that's always torn

I've heard newborn babies cryin' like a moanin' dove

And old men with broken teeth stranded without love.
一位牙齒殘缺的老人，擱滯在仇恨的淺灘

And now there's a wall between us, something else been lost
