This year slammed the brakes
We stood still whilst the world changed

Government they're so callous
The policy it's medieval 
Gatekeepers they won't let you in 
Let the bottom starve it's so evil 
Populism man it's killing us 
Migrants the new target
It's aclassic case of deflection
But the headlines yeah they start it 
It's so frustrating
My family work the hardest
Education is paramount
Otherwise the winters are harshest

But what the future holds depends on every heart
Do we want to see a time where empathy ain't on the chart?
I know these months have been so tough on all our dreams
But resilience it's prevalent throughout our history
