What makes you itch?
什麼會讓你渴望？
What sort of a situation would you like?
你希望處在什麼樣的環境裡？
Let's suppose, I do this often in vocational guidance of students,
假如，額我經常給一些學生做就業指導
they come to me and say, well,
他們走過來，對我說
'we're getting out of college
“我們馬上就要畢業了，
and we have the faintest idea what we want to do'.
而且我們要去我們最不喜歡的工作了。”
So I always ask the question
我就問他們
'what would you like to do if money were no object?
“當金錢什麼都不是的時候，你們想做些什麼？
How would you really enjoy spending your life?'
你做些什麼，才會真正享受生活？”
Well, it's so amazing as a result of our kind of educational system,
額，有幸於我們的教育制度
crowds of students say well
很多很多的學生們說
we'd like to be painters,
我想當畫家
we'd like to be poets
我想當詩人
we'd like to be writers
我想當作家
but as everybody knows you can't earn any money that way
但我們都懂，做這種工作，賺不到多少錢
Or another person says well
還有人說過
I'd like to live an out-of-doors life and ride horses
我寧願像個牛仔一樣在野外生活
I said you want to teach in a riding school?
我說“你難道想在一個騎馬學校教書嗎。。。”
Let's go through with it
好吧，管他呢
What do you want to do?
你到底想做一些什麼？
When we finally got down to something
當他終於能全心全意
which the individual says he really wants to do
做一件他真正願意做的事
I will say to him
我會這樣對他說
you do that and forget the money
忘記一切關於金錢的意識全力以赴
because, if you say that getting the money is the most important thing
因為，你如果覺得賺錢才是根本的話
you will spend your life completely wasting your time
你的一生就會這樣虛度下去
You'll be doing things you don't like doing in order to go on living
你會去做一些你根本不願意碰的事 只是為了吃口飯
that is to go on doing things you don’t like doing
那就只能做一些你覺得無聊的事了
which is stupid
愚蠢！
And so, therefore, it's so important to consider this question
因此，我們都應該想一想
What do I desire?
我到底，在接下來的人生中，我渴望什麼？
