Wild Ripplin' Waters

As I was out walkin' and ramblin' one day
有一天我出家門在鄉間漫步
I spied a fair couple a-comin' my way

One was a lady, as fair as could be

And the other was a cowboy, and a brave one was he

He said 'Where are you goin', my pretty fair maid?'

“走去河邊，沿著河岸散步
Just down by the river, just down by the spring
就去河邊，那裡春光盎然
To see the wild ripplin' waters and hear the nightingale sing'
去看粼粼水波，聽夜鶯歌唱“

他們去了還不到一個小時
Well they hadn't been there but an hour or so
他挎包裡拿出了小提琴
'Til he drew from his satchel a fiddle and bow
他把那老舊的小提琴調到高音弦上
He tuned his old fiddle all on the high string
接著他一遍又一遍地演奏著這段旋律
And he played this tune over and over again
然後牛仔說：”我該走了“
Then said the cowboy 'I should have been gone'
“別走，別走“,那漂亮的少女說,'請再演奏一次'
'No, no', said the pretty maid. 'Just play one more song
“哪怕我只能聽你用一根弦演奏“
I'd rather hear the fiddle just played on one string
”然後看著粼粼水波，聽夜鶯歌唱“
