Today I want to tell you three stories from my life. Thats it. No big deal. Just three stories. The first story is about connecting the dots.
今天我想給大家講三個我自己的故事，不講別的，也不講大道理，就講三個故事。
The first story is about connecting the dots.
第一個故事講的是點與點之間的關係。
My second story is about love and loss.
第二個故事是關於得與失。
My third story is about death.
第三個是關於死亡。
you cant connect the dots looking forward. You can only connect them looking backwards, so you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something--your gut, destiny, life, karma , whatever--because believing that the dots will connect down the road will give you the confidence to follow your heart, even when it leads you off the well- worn path, and that will make all the difference.
你們同樣不可能從現在這個點上看到將來，只有回頭看時，才會發現它們之間的關係。所以，要相信這些點遲早會連接到一起。你們必須信賴某些東西——直覺、歸宿、生命，還有業力，等等。這樣做從來沒有讓我的希望落空過，而且還徹底改變了我的生活。
Sometimes lifes going to hit you in the head with a brick. Dont lose faith. Im convinced that the only thing that kept me going was that I loved what I did. Youve got to find what you love, and that is as true for work as it is for your lovers. Your work is going to fill a large part of your life, and the only way to be truly satisfied is to do what you believe is great work, and the only way to do great work is to love what you do. If you havent found it yet, keep looking, and dont settle. As with all matters of the heart, youll know when youfind it, and like any great relationship it just gets better and better as the years roll on. So keep looking. Dont settle.
一定得知道自己喜歡什麼，選擇愛人時如此，選擇工作時同樣如此。工作將是生活中的一大部分，讓自己真正滿意的唯一辦法，是做自己認為是有意義的工作；做有意義的工作的唯一辦法，是熱愛自己的工作。你們如果還沒有發現自己喜歡什麼，那就不斷地去尋找，不要急於做出決定。就像一切要憑著感覺去做的事情一樣，一旦找到了自己喜歡的事，感覺就會告訴你。就像任何一種美妙的東西，歷久彌新。所以說，要不斷地尋找，直到找到自己喜歡的東西。不要半途而廢。
No one wants to die, even people who want to go to Heaven dont want to die to get there, and yet, death is the destination we all share. No one has ever escaped it. And that is as it should be , because death is very likely the single best invention of life. Its lifes change agent; it clears out the old to make way for the new. right now, the new is you. But someday, not too long from now, you will gradually become the old and be cleared away. Sorry to be so dramatic, but its quite true. Your time is limited, so dont waste it living someone elses life. Dont be trapped by dogma, which is living with the results of other peoples thinking. Dont let the noise of others opinions drown out your own inner voice, heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.誰都不願意死。就是那些想進天堂的人也不願意死後再進。然而，死亡是我們共同的歸宿，沒人能擺脫。我們注定會死，因為死亡很可能是生命最好的一項發明。它推進生命的變遷，舊的不去，新的不來。現在，你們就是新的，但在不久的將來，你們也會逐漸成為舊的，也會被淘汰。對不起，話說得太過分了，不過這是千真萬確的。
Stay hungry, stay foolish.' And I have always wished that for myself, and now, as you graduate to begin anew, I wish that for you. Stay hungry, stay foolish.
